It's surprising but true: Where you look affects how you feel.
This fascinating quality of our being is used in therapy to promote understanding, acceptance, and change.
The simple technique at the core of Brainspotting – focusing your gaze on distinct positions that we will find together & that are unique to you –
can have a profound impact on your ability to develop new perspectives
on your challenges & feel at ease and secure in yourself.
The "brainspot" becomes the anchor for the session, and we can work with it in different ways to support your inner processing and healing.
Although only minimally studied in research settings (with positive results, see link below) thousands of therapists
across cultures offer this unique form of healing.

My role as Brainspotting therapist is to attune to you and to gently encourage your mind-body connection, self-acceptance, & curiosity - so that you can heal on your own terms. This method blends well with other somatic modalities, IFS/parts work, CBT, and liberation and empowerment-based healing.
I am a certified Brainspotting therapist, and part of my training has been focused on attuning to the experiences of BIPOC adults.
Brainspotting Therapy
This gentle process helps stuck patterns to shift & self-limiting beliefs
to be reconsidered, allowing growth and change to occur naturally.
This method helps you focus on and heal from painful experiences, beliefs, and body memories that keep you stuck in the past. I will be there to support you in noticing, feeling, and learning from your experience.
This is a somatic approach to therapy, meaning that healing will include care and connection to how your body was impacted by painful life experiences, without the need to explain in depth or reconstruct what happened to you with spoken words.

trauma healing
Mindfulness and acceptance are core components in healing from anxiety and depression that are integrated in this method.
We can support you to identify & connect with internal & external resources to grow your resilience. At the same time, we'll help you better understand the roots of your mental health challenges.
emotional health & secure relating
